I received this e-mail, my first clue it might be frausulent is it has a sender address of Microsoft! (with an exclamation point): Dear Customer, Someone has used your password to get into your account and the new details have been updated on your account. Security setting has been changed from IP Address 001.024.651.64.01. Date - August 23rd, 2019 Location - Madison, Wisconsin If it was you, Please ignore this email, If you think something is wrong, Please call and let us know at your earliest convenience. Thanks & Regards, Microsoft Service (844)-782-8432 What I ALWAYS do is google Microsoft to get the ACTUAL phone number for Microsoft (or Apple, or A T & T) and call them on a number other than the one given. ANYONE can send you an official-looking e-mail with a number. You can also Google-search the phone number 844 782-8432 and see there are a number of complaints of attempted fraud under this phone number. I google-searched the actual number of Microsoft, and got this information: "You can contact Microsoft Customer Support at Phone Number 1 800-642-7676 or microsoft.com/contactus. You can now also give or take Tech Support remotely using Quick Assist in Windows 10" I called and just got an endless loop of recorded messages. No help at all, I could not even forward the e-mail to Microsoft to make them aware of the fraud to do anything about it. FUCK YOU, Microsoft, You should have a fraud section that receives reports about these attempts, and ACTUALLY DOES SOMETHING to stop them! FUCK you bastards, you are utterly useless, and are enabling this kind of fraud.
